One of the most beloved popular musicians of our time tells the story of his extraordinary life.

This is Willie Nelson's complete, unvarnished story, told in his voice and leaving no significant moment or experience untold, from Texas, Nashville, Hawaii, and beyond. Having recently turned 80, Nelson is ready to shine a light on all aspects of his life, including his drive to write music, the women in his life, his collaborations, and his biggest lows and highs--from his bankruptcy to the founding of Farm Aid.

An American icon who still tours constantly and headlines music festivals, Willie Nelson and his music have found their way into the hearts and minds of fans the world over, winning ten Grammys and receiving Kennedy Center Honors. Now it's time to hear the last word about his life -- from the man himself.
"Every page radiates authenticity." --Washington Post

  • Great book!

Very well written, thoughtful and insightful book. Written by a man who is certainly not stuck on being holier than thou. He truly looks at himself and his life honestly. Love how he never has a bad word to say about anyone. Even those that screwed him over or he didn't care for. You may not like Willies music or politics or whatever but you must admit he is an honest kind soul. I am so glad his IRS fiasco did not take him out of the music business years ago. He is truly a gifted song writer and performer and has also proven himself a gifted, talented and well spoken writer. Good job Willie. Always lived your work before and do so even more know that I know your whole story. Hope you continue on for many years making sweet music.
  • Great journey

His early years remind me of my early years except that Willie is a man driven by music. I had a good friend that worked for Mr. Nelson. Willie called him JUST BILL. He is buried at Willie's ranch. I thank Mr. Nelson for taking care of Bill Coldwell.

I've loved his music for a long time. It stands to reason his story would be equally as fascinating. Loved it.

I read it in one weekend. Willie tells his story with humor, truth and respect for his songwriting talent. This is a good man. And this is a good book.

I grew up listening to Willie. My mother loved Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. It's great he's still doing what he loves to do at 82. Enjoyed the book very much.

Good read and well done. It is a story about Willie. He says he is a man of faith and family. I had no idea he wrote so many songs and he is not done yet.

And you, the background music with Julio makes you feel like one is in the heart of Mexico. All your singing Buddies I have enjoyed my entire life.. I wish you health and happiness. God Bless.
